Hospitalment SHIROKANE
Hospitalment SHIROKANE
Hospitalment Shirokane is a paid nursing home located in Minato-ku.
We received a request from the client to “plan a variety of bathroom spaces that are not bound by the image of existing nursing homes,” and we were in charge of designing the bath space zone in the basement, which consists of four bathrooms. Each bathroom has a different barrier-free design grade, so users can enjoy a selectable bath space depending on their “mood of the day” and “degree of barrier.” This bath service system and space are used to differentiate the facility from other facilities and are used as a feature of the facility. Since the bathrooms were located underground, we designed them to incorporate a small dry area into the space so that the closed-in feeling of the underground is not felt as much as possible.

The bath space design is based on the theme of light felt in the dark. Stained glass windows are used as an accent in the design.
<Kaze no Yu>
The dry area (underground atrium leading to the ground) is designed like a balcony and connected to the bathroom space so that you can take an open-air bath even though it is underground. We created a space that feels unified and spacious from the changing room to the open-air bath space.
<Shirogane no Yu>
A bathing space that assumes that “you will move from the stretcher to the shower bed and then wash and bathe.” A dedicated shower bed is installed in the center. There is no bathtub, so it is a fully equipped barrier-free space.
<Shirogane no Yu>
A bathing space that assumes that “you will move from the wheelchair to the bathtub and then bathe.” We have introduced a ready-made dedicated unit bath product developed with this assumption in mind.
